Update: As Jennifer mention’s in her comment below, the coalition bill (see Foreign Policy In Focus) passed: New law to restrict adoption by foreigners, The Korea Times. Congratulations to all involved for their passion and dedication.
I have teased this edition of Unedited: Voices of Adoption featuring Jennifer Kwon Dobbs enough. So, I only ask this — PLEASE pass it along. All adoptees, unwed mothers, first mothers, and adoptive parents, regardless of where they are in the “politics of adoption,” need to see this video and read Jennifer’s recent article in Foreign Policy In Focus. There is so much that many of us don’t know and there is so much that has been kept from us.
A big thanks to Jennifer for humoring and allowing us to tape her “in the wild.” A HUGE thanks to Adam Rebholz, who did all of the filming and editing. And a gazillion amount of thanks to all of the adoptees who endeavor to bring forth adoption reform.
“Unwed mom/adoptee advocacy originally emerged through Adoptee Solidarity Korea’s efforts back in 2004, although TRACK has organized more intensely for the past two years through the KUMFA/TRACK alliance.
